Dr. Devin Garfinkle

Dr. Devin Garfinkle, (she/her), is a licensed naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. She earned her doctorate in naturopathic medicine and masters in acupuncture from Bastyr University, in Kenmore, WA.

Dr. Devin is also a listener, observer, dancer, artist, seeker, dreamer, curious creature, and eternal student of nature and humanity. She is currently the first-year resident physician at Naturopathic Gastro.

Prior to moving west to attend naturopathic medical school, Dr. Devin earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in Philadelphia. During her undergraduate studies she completed a 200-hr yoga teaching certification and went on to teach yoga for a few years. As an athlete, dancer, and yoga teacher, Dr. Devin has found the body to be a wise and invaluable teacher and invites others to listen to the messages and stories their bodies long to tell. She is fascinated by what moves humans on a physical, emotional, and soul level. She is also curious about the places where one may be stuck and thus inhibited to express their fullest potential and most authentic self. Dr. Devin strongly believes the human organism is always striving to self-regulate and heal. Sometimes we just need some additional guidance and support to help create the conditions that foster this healing process and remind us of our wholeness.

While Dr. Devin has been trained in primary care, she has a special clinical interest in gastrointestinal, reproductive, and mental health conditions as well as the intersection of psychoneuroimmunology and trauma-healing. During naturopathic school she became a licensed massage therapist and deepened her relationship to the healing power of touch. She has continued to study various hands-on modalities including acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, pelvic floor therapy, and thai-yoga massage. In addition, Dr. Devin took elective coursework in mind-body medicine, biofeedback, IV-therapy, and 5-elements acupuncture. She has completed 2 out of 3 years of training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a facilitator of the naturalistic body-oriented therapeutic model that supports individuals safely returning home to their bodies and healing from trauma.

Outside of work, Dr. Devin enjoys exploring the pacific north west with her 5 year old mini labradoodle Tulsi, foraging and wildcrafting, cooking, painting, seeing live music, and being physically active whether biking, hiking, ecstatic dancing, practicing somatic movement and contact improvisation.
